(Bangkok Post file photo)His Majesty the King will preside over a ceremony for the promulgation of the 2017 constitution at the Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall on Thursday April 6, which is Chakri Day, the Royal Household Bureau announced. The Bureau of Royal Scribes and Royal Decorations under the cabinet secretariat will then read out the royal announcement on the promulgation of the constitution. After the draft charter was approved at a referendum it was forwarded to His Majesty the King for approval. However, the King returned it to the government for changes. After receiving royal approval, April 6 was set for the promulgation of the new charter.
